The Victoria Copper Cottage is a self-contained part of the East Wing of Quernmore Park Hall, a Georgian Stately Home (built from 1795-1798) set in the luscious Lune Valley.

The apartment has recently been refurbished to a high standard retaining all the charm of its original era, including a functioning bread oven and exquisite range with easy to use open fire. (There is also a modern oven!!) The decor is copper themed with huge windows in the bedroom and an artistically quirky shower room-bathroom. It is grand yet cozy and inviting.

We invite you to wander the ancient grounds of the estate, declared a Royal Forest after the Norman conquest. There are extensive lawns, unusual mature trees and abundant wildlife. The jewel in the crown is the Victorian ‘secret’ walled garden, peaceful and serene. The estate was once known as St. Paul’s Priory and the gardens were tended by the monks. The tranquility of the garden is transporting and reminds us of times gone by. Stepping into the Walled Garden it is as if we are shielded from the busy modern world the mind is calmed the senses awakened. There is a magic wishing well and a heartfelt poem displayed on the wall, dedicated to the garden.  Each season reveals the beauty of nature, snowdrops, daffodils, magnolias, bluebells, hare, deer and hawks and so on throughout the year.

Quernmore Park Hall is a peaceful place to retreat from the busy world and yet we are just 4 miles from the centre of Lancaster, 10 miles to the seaside resort of Morecambe (fabulous sunsets!!! and mountain views across the bay) close to the exquisite Forest of Bowland, and 23 miles from Lake District National Park. We are just 5.5 miles from Lancaster University and 3 miles from Williamson’s Park.

The area is surrounded by great hikes with stunning views across Morecambe Bay of the Lake District Hills and the Yorkshire Peak District. The local area is beloved by many; walkers, (there are walks for all capabilities) cyclists, motorbikers, bird watchers, horse riders, nature lovers and wild swimmers, to name but a few.

Our unique accommodation is perfect for a restful retreat away from the busy buzz of the world, or as a handy home space from which to adventure out into the landscape, picturesque villages or close by city with abundant cafes, pubs, shops and entertainment.

Although it really is a perfect setting for couples seeking quality time together, the accommodation also has a sofa bed and fold away cot, meaning that small groups of friends or families can also be accommodated.

“Can’t express enough the beauty of this hidden gem! Especially the stunning private gardens and grounds, the pictures don’t do it justice. Victoria was easy to communicate with and extremely helpful. It’s home from home comfort. Will definitely be returning and would definitely recommend if your looking for a quiet get away.” – Victoria Anne, May 2025 via AirBnb.

“Immerse yourself into English history and architecture by staying at the quaint accommodation. Great kitchen to cook in, relax in front of the fire, and sleep in the grandeur of large windows, cabinetry and period decor.” Linda April 2024 via AirBnb.
